These fantastically flavorful fajita soy curls are so easy to prepare! They would be a perfect addition to your tacos, fajitas, nachos, and buddha bowls.
1.5Tbspfajita seasoning(I used Penzey's Fajita Seasoning)
Instructions
Soak the soy curls
Place the soy curls in a large bowl. You can break up the soy curls into smaller pieces at this point if you would like, or you can wait to slice them up after they are soaked. I do think it's a bit easier to break them up by hand while they're dry.
Add the vegetable broth and water and soak for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to be sure all of the soy curls are submerged in the liquid throughout the soaking process.
Drain the soy curls, then add flavor
After soaking, place the soy curls in a colander and allow to drain.
Meanwhile, combine the Worchestershire sauce and liquid smoke in a small bowl and stir or whisk to combine.
Slice or break up the longer soy curls at this point if you didn't do this before soaking them.
Place the soaked soy curls in a bowl and add the Worchestershire sauce & liquid smoke mixture. Stir until evenly coated. Then, add the fajita seasoning & stir to coat.
Brown the soy curls
Place the coated soy curls into a preheated nonstick pan on medium heat. Stir occasionally and heat until the soy curls are lightly browned on most sides. This takes about 10 minutes or so.
Enjoy!
These soy curls are fantastic served in tacos or fajitas, over nachos, or in buddha bowls. You can combine them with things like bell pepper strips, GCK Insane Nacho cheeze sauce, guacamole, brown rice, onion, cilantro, corn, diced tomatoes, etc. Enjoy! 😁
